ANB
ACADEMY FUTBOL TO PARTICIPATE IN ITALY TOUR
January
4, 2013 (RELEASE) --
The ANB Academy has been formally invited to participate in a training camp and
exhibition games in Northern Italy (Piedmont Region) during March Break, 2013.
The ANB Academy team will be composed of specifically selected 1997 & 1998
born Academy players to play matches against similarly aged players from the
professional Academy teams of Inter Milan FC, Juventus FC and Genoa CFC.
The ANB players and staff will travel to Milan in March, 2013 and will be
hosted by Genova International School of Soccer, based in Ovada, Italy. The
team will train daily throughout their weeklong stay with the three exhibition
games scheduled during the week. Training will be conducted by ANB Academy
staff as well as professional Italian coaches. The purpose of the trip is to
expose ANB players to a professional environment and continue to establish
European professional relationships between teams and coaches.
ANB Academy Director, Bassam Naim, is excited for the trip, saying,
"Although the Academy has traveled to Europe several times over the past 5
years, this will be our first tour in Italy. The players will be challenged on
the field, both in training and in games. We expect the players to return to
Canada with more professional knowledge of the game and learn from the
experience."
Trip details will be finalized in the coming weeks. 1997 born players
interested in joining the Academy are asked to consult the ANB website for
program try-out details.
ANB Academy's vision is to become Canada's leading futbol development
organization. Its mission is to identify Canadian futbol talent, and to
maximize the potential of players at any level, through professional coaching
and training.
