ANB
Academy Futbol player identified by Caen Football Club
November
16, 2009 (RELEASE) -- The ANB Academy is pleased to announce that
16-year old Academy Team member Jason Mills was successfully identified by Caen
Football club in the French league.
Jason
just returned from a week try-out with the U-17 program and the U-19 program of
the clubs formation centre. He is to travel back to France in March 2010
for one month for further training with the Formation Centre. Then he will be
invited 3 times per year until his 18th birthday before he can officially be
signed with the club.
According to FIFAs latest regulations on the status and transfer of
players, a minor is not allowed to sign for a foreign club before the age of
18.
If Jason was a French citizen, he would have been signed to our Formation
Centre today. From what we have seen, he has all the technical abilities
needed, but as per FIFAs regulation on players transfer, he will be
invited to France on many occasions until his 18th birthday said
Sebastien Bannier, Caens Formation Centre Director.
Jason has been an ANB Academy Team member since the Academys
inception back in October 2005. This is just fantastic to everyone! We are
ecstatic and proud of Jason. He will be our new ambassador to the elite of the
elites in France. The ANB Academy is presently in the final stages of
discussions about a partnership between Caen Football Club and The ANB
Academy commented Academy Director, Bassam Naim.
ANB academy's vision is to become Canadas leading soccer development
organization. Its mission is to identify Canadian soccer talent, and to
maximize the potential of players at any level, through professional coaching
and training.
