ANB Futbol Academy Girls Program Update:
The Girls program at ANB Futbol Academy has been active in the past months.
Over the summer, apart from a rigorous 4 training sessions per week and taking
part in SAAC competition, the players have attended individual college camps in
the United States and Canada. The training and games were in preparation for a
Labour Day showcase / tournament in Detroit, MI, The Force FC
Tournament.
The team is represented by players born in 1995 & 1996, yet competed
against quality competition one to two years older. Recognized American club
coaches and college scouts were in attendance at this tournament and were
impressed at the girls technical skills and overall team chemistry. Based
on the teams performance, the organizers invited the team to participate
in a girls only showcase at the end of October.
The team is actively preparing for this competition, The Michigan FC
Tournament, where more college scouts will be in attendance including
Oakland University, IPFW, Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green and others.
Competition will be stiff with nationally ranked teams from Indiana, Chicago
and Michigan placed in the same pool as The ANB Academy Girls. Team coaches are
confident good results will be obtained once again and this will lead to
further invitations to top quality showcases in 2011.
The ANB Futbol Academy Girls program will continue showcasing the older girls
in 2011, as well as train younger girls in the Academy to eventually join the
senior team. These plans are currently being defined and will be communicated
in the coming weeks.
Tryouts for the ANB Academy Girls program are ongoing in all age groups.
ANB academy's vision is to become Canadas leading soccer development
organization. Its mission is to identify Canadian soccer talent, and to
maximize the potential of players at any level, through professional coaching
and training.
